We have seen all 6 of our black australorps in the nest box but only gotten 5 eggs a day.... I was wondering what others think because family say that I only have 5 hens.

I know right! The guy who sold them to us said that there was only a chance that even 3 would be hens.

Another this is (I don’t know if you know or not) when our chickens free range they go through some poison ivy. Could I possibly get it from them? (Just in case....)

possibly, as it leaves an oil on them so just be aware to be wearing long sleeved shirts and pants when out dealing with them, they are most likely immune to it but we aren't

Five eggs a day out of six hens is excellent! I have 15 hens and get 9-11 eggs a day and I think that's pretty good! Everybody's entitled to a day off now and then, right?

Yes, most definitely.
My older hens like to forage for grubs in an area that is loaded with poison ivy during the summer.
I have to remember to wash my hands immediately if I touch them.
I forgot earlier this year and caught poison ivy from the hens. GC
