My opinion is that is a very pretty......bird.

That’s what I thought too! I have quite a few roosters so far and they all showed obvious feathering by this age.

Some are slow developers, which makes identification all the more difficult. I suppose time will tell.

It’s a very beautiful bird as well mine is my “favorite” very cuddly and loves to be held.

Well I was so anxious this morning thinking about it. So I went out and did a thorough exam through its feathers....

Low and behold, hidden beneath all the fluffy feathers, 2 long skinny saddle feathers I’m so over roosters

If you zoom in you can see that the iridescent color is pointed but there is rounded feather around it. Very confusing chicken.

I'm fairly certain I see pointed saddle feathers coming in on this pic... This is a cockerel.

Oh, and the iridescence doesn't mean anything. All black birds iridesce.
