Opossum - pest or predator?

This is gross but if you let it get infested with magets which are protein and throw it in with your chickens they will clean it up and leave you the bones.

Mine catch the moles in the yard and eat them they are sick.

Pretty much any predator would.....even another possum.... I've seen multiple possums dead in the road near each other that I think happened because one possum was dead, another was feeding on it, and it got hit too....lol

If we had more time we'd be canning the meat from every opossum and raccoon we harvest. Come the flood those Ball Jars will be worth their wt. in gold.

I've been thinking: Cubed, seared with a little sesame oil and canned at 10lb. PSI for 75min. (in beef broth and cheap Merlot). Works for Snapping turtles.
