Opossum's in my chicken coop

Well i did trap some and moved them far away. But sometime last night they got into the coop and killed two of my younger chickens...it was not a good start to my morning. So the gun will be coming out even though i hate to do it.

... caught 3 squirrels and relocated them as well as the opossums. I usually drive them as far away as I can.....

Thank you. I was wondering why my squirrel and opossum population was increasing....

Predator proof your coop and run. Its permanent, not that hard, and cheaper in the long run. It also makes it a lot more pleasant to go to your coop each morning, not having to worry that something has gotten in and massacred them. If you try to kill or relocate, you will have problems with rats and, being smaller, they are harder to keep out.

my dog gets my predators and had a rat set trap for him and have not seeing him in a long time

was not in the trap

Wish my dogs would get the predators but my guineas are the ones that warn me when something is not right. Like tonight i could here them going nuts so i ran out to find to Opossums. I was able to get one the other ran off. Going to check again soon.

Install a radio tuned to a 24/7 talk station, opposum will hear human voices and think they are in the building. Works down here, don't know about eleswhere

i have a light in the coop and they actually sit under it when i come out to check on the coop...Also have a radio too.. nothing seems to bother them....
