Redhen, you're a sicko just like me... is it wrong that I can't stop laughing at that?

My older RIR flock (including the roo) are deathly afraid of a head of cabbage hanging from the top of the run. They go absolutely bis-irk. You would think that the grim reaper has come to visit.

He wanted anything we were eating too. He'd sit in his cage and l-e-a-n toward us, flap his wings and say "C'mere! C'mere!" when we were eating stuff he loved like spaghetti.

My chickens won't use dust bath in front of me, but I finally caught one dusting last week. I know they've been using it all this year, as it's very messed up all of the time. Here's my recipe that works well to keep the mites off.

Homemade Natural Chicken Dust Bath (mix this up & put 4" to 6" in a kitty litter tray, leave it out all of the time in a rain free area)

1 part Wood ash
1 part DE (diatomaceous earth)
1 part Sand
1 part Road dust (dusty dirt)
