since you guys are talking about color genetics and are in the kmow could you tell me if i breed a white chantecker witha buff orpington what color birds I will get? White Im guessing? or with some red bleed?

Just finished reading this entire thread, very pretty chickens. Hope you are geeting what you want out of it. Question. Do any of your flock (you said that there was EE in the background) still lay green/blue eggs?
I have a project in mind but want to use Easter Eggers and maybe some true Araucana and Ameraucana blood down the line, for the bluer egg. Some of those Patch-ling would look cool in my flock. Would have to wait a while to get any form you though as mine are still babies. I really don't care much for the olive colored eggs that others are breeding for (mixes of Barred Rock and Marans chickens), I want to try for the blue and mint green eggs. I also want muff and or tuffs on mine and would like to see a bigger sized chicken with the EE type.
I'm going to subscibe to this link so I can keep updated. Also, I will keep checking you website.

Very pretty, I wish I was educated in chicken genetics, I would love to be of some help. You have a great idea, here's hoping you get what you are seeking from this project and all others you may pursue.

Yup, we are still getting some blue, some white, some tinted, some green eggs. The color of the egg is waaaaay down on the list of "to dos" with the Alohas.
1) Keep productivity up
2) Increase body size
3) Try to get more consistant patterning
4) worry about the chicken "bling" (egg color, comb type, consistant skin color)

I just got a new EE (a spash wheaton EE from AZDC from Mahonri's flock)

I'm hoping he helps get some red in the flock, while adding those blue-blue egg genes.
