Orange Tabby...He Stays and His Name is Finn (Update with Videos Dec 31)

Finn is a perfect example of how special cats are...hard to believe it's been almost 10yrs since he came to you Cynthia.
I can't believe it, either! He's such a great cat, the cat for all cat-haters, LOL. My husband will be devastated when we lose him, no question. Finn turns into a nurse when my husband feels bad or is more pain than usual and won't leave his side.

Thought I'd update this thread. Finn has been with us for 10 1/2 years now, will be 11 yrs come November, is almost completely blind; his eyes look like glass marbles. Even then, he's left a gift squirrel for us on the mat and sent a few mice to their eternal reward, amazing. You can't convince me that he is entirely blind to shadows and light. If you recall, the vet said he was about a year and a half old when he showed up and adopted us.
He still goes on his routes in the morning, hunts by sound and maybe some movement he can detect. He would not be happy as a forced indoor cat. He is my husband's nurse. My husband has far advanced degenerative disc disease and is in excruciating pain much of the time. When it's especially bad, Finn will not leave his side. He's on his chest, his lap or hanging over his shoulder, couldn't have a better nurse. We are going to be devastated when he's gone. Here he is in his second favorite spot (his first in somewhere on my husband), his chair on the wraparound porch. Someone told me that orange tabbies are the best and they're right, sweetest and most well-behaved cat I can imagine and unlike my husband, I grew up with cats. None were like Finn.

Cynthia, thanks for the update on Finn! He's as handsome as ever ❤️

It's funny now to think back when we used to call your DH a confirmed "cat-hater" (jokingly of course). I'm sorry to hear about your husband's difficulties but glad he has Finn.

Orange boys are special, I have one of my own that's almost 9 now. He certainly rules the house:

Thanks again for sharing an update...all the best to you & yours!

Debby your little guy is cute (plz tell me I didn't call you the wrong name; seems I can barely remember my own lately, ugh). I said to my hubby once that because of Finn, he likes cats now. He said, "I like this cat", LOL. Our accidental cat turned out to be a real blessing.
Hope all is well with you!

You're 100% spot on with the name AND how it's spelled so no worries!

Take care Cyn :)

Love the Finn update. Such a handsome boy ♡ and yes, ginger kitties are special, especially this one! So glad he found you and you all are still enjoying adventures together. You have made such a big difference in his life. Thank you for that, and thank you for sharing your Finn stories. I volunteer with a TNR (trap neuter return (also rescue when can)), feed many stations and colonies, plus I foster a lot of kitties. I love what you have done for this boy and what he has given you in return. Truly beautiful and makes me a bit teary eyed 🥹💕

Thank you for your service in helping these animals! Finn deserves every good thing he can get. He has been such a comfort to my husband since he got here.
