@speckledhen , are you guys warming/thawing out yet? And of course, how's that Finn doing?

We are much warmer, yes. And finally, a short dry period over the weekend. Just in time, too. Yesterday, my day started by taking Cat Magnet to the ER to be seen when he fell on one of the slippery ramps to a coop and tore open his shin. Thought he needed stitches, but bad place for that so just cleaning out, ointment and bandages he has to change twice daily plus daily antibiotics and a shiny new tetanus shot. This is as we are on the upswing from a bad cold we caught from the doctor's office when there for routine blood work. DH has been having to sleep in his recliner because he has coughing fits when he lays down. Finn has been his lap warmer for a couple of nights, needless to say. So, Finn is doing just fine. He will not sit in my lap, only DH's. He has attached himself to DH like a furry leech.

Thanks for asking! I bet it's too warm now to wear your nifty crocheted hat I made for you. There's always another winter, though (unfortunately).

Wow, you had an exciting (in a not so fun way) yesterday. Sorry to hear Cat Magnet got hurt, hope he's better soon.

Funny how animals will take a preference to one person over another. Our lame RIR think's DH is her personal buddy, she tolerates me because I clean up after her (she's in her own mini-coop/run) and feed her. She sort of crabs at me but almost purrs for DH, lol.

Finn has fit so well into your home, it's like he was supposed to find you guys.

My pretty hat has been retired to the hat rack for now. It's been around 80 the past several days so it's back to the old ball cap for me. Love that hat though, it did an excellent job of keeping my ears warm. I'll definitely get lots of use out it when it cools back down. Are you going to offer them for sale on Blue Roo?

Gotta get busy. Today is DH's birthday and I still have some things to finish up. Have a good one Cyn!

Glad it did the trick for you, Debby! Happy Birthday to your DH!

I'll give him your salutations (and watch him try to remember who Cyn is without asking me, hehehehehe)!

Must tell you of the adventures of Theo on this beautiful day....we actually hit 70 yay. So Ragnar and crew were in the run...Sir Lancelot and crew were outside running amuck and Theo was dodging them. We did our mouse hunting in the coop and he still has it after this long winter. There was one under the nest box and he promptly grabbed little.mousey and pranced outside into the sunshine to torture it.

He was.letting it go catching it letting it go etc and all the sudden Theo grabs the mouse and tosses it in the air and flops down on his side. He then flipped over onto his back and caught mousey. Then the game was on...he'd toss it up and grab it and etc etc. Poor mousey must have been terrified. Theo finally took pity on it and ate it. Hahahahaha

Sounds like the games Finn plays with the poor rodents. He did kill something with gray fur about a week ago because it was all over my deck but no blood. Definitely it was not a mouse. Gross.

While I haven't posted much, I have been following Finn's adventures regularly.

I love the new nickname Cat Magnet!

When I met hubby, my cat, Syba, was 6 months old. The first time hubby came to the house Syba adopted him immediately and he has been hubby's cat ever since. Last time hubby went away for work when he got back I told him "Next time you go away you are either taking Me or Syba with you; do not leave me alone with him again!" Syba whinged, whined, sulked, acted up and misbehaved the whole time hubby was gone and kept giving me evil looks as if asking "what have you done with him?!".

Syba follows hubby around the house like a dog at heel; does everything hubby tells him, including sit and ignores every word that comes out of my mouth except "Dinner!" and, after all that, I still love Syba to bits and I do get the occasional cuddle

I just love this story! It's such cat-like behavior and yet we still adore them.
