Orange Yolks

What do YOU feed your chickens to make the yolks more orange?
And...how long does one need to feed it before there is a noticeable color change?

A diet rich in xanthophylls, omega-3 fatty acids, and meats. Dark leafy greens like spinach, kale, collards, etc are one good source of the xnthophylls .... also available in zuchinni, broccoli and brussel sprouts. The "meats" side of things comes from providing the natural, omnivorous diet of a chicken - meaning the ability to range and find bugs, small rodents, frogs, etc - or by providing animal protein from your kitchen. Ultimately, a "nice" egg comes from a well balanced diet.
