Ordered Chicks From My Pet Chicken - ???

If you mean more chicks by "packing peanuts", please see the following thread:

I suggest you do not check the box for any extras upon checkout.

If you really meant packing peanuts, mine came with straw in the box.

LOL!! II don't know what I'd do with that many chickens.
I don't recall checking that option..but I do remember saying no to subsitutions. I wouldn't mind if they tossed a couple of Easter Eggers in there..but 60 extra is just crazy.

I don't remember having an option for saying yes or no to extras. I wouldn't mind a couple extras but that's a little much. I guess I'll find out soon, mine were hatched today and due to be here this week.

This is my first order so I don't have much to contribute, yet. I will say so far the customer service has been great.

@larsonll
1 of the 3 is a Roo. He is beautiful though, and getting prettier by the week. I was pretty sure of him right away. He was really chipmunky and bigger than all the other babies with real thick legs, but I really noticed around 5 weeks because his comb got red real early and his tail feathers were really flashy pretty early. He also always seemed to walk around with this swagger like he owned the whole joint...

@azchicken
There was a substitution option just incase they have a bad hatch, but I don't remember seeing any where mentioned they'd send you extras. I know that Mc Murray sends a "mystery" chick with their minimum 25.

I haven't ordered from MPC, but I have ordered from Meyer - just 4 chicks - and they arrived safe and sound. No extras - just the four I ordered. They had a heat pack in the box with them. They were packed much better than the ones I ordered from a private breeder. I was very impressed with Meyer - and I also was impressed with our post office. Good luck with your new chicks.

I ordered from MPC. 16 chicks all happy and healthy. My EE does have cross beak but I still love her!!!!! Would order from them again!!!!!! Congrats on your chicks!!!!!! Please post pix when you get them!!!!!

I got 6 healthy chicks from MPC this past August. All are thriving and feathering out! I've been letting them outside already to get some fresh air and will probably move them to the coop in another 3 weeks. I don't know if all are hens...I requested that. I'm suspicious about one (an EE)...he/she grew much more quickly than the rest and has really thick legs. Hope it's not a roo...know I can't handle the a.m. crowing

But, yes, I'd definitely order from MPC again...only wish the shipping weren't so pricey!!

We've ordered from my pet chicken back in June this year, all 7 arrived healthy and full of energy. The only thing is that one of my two Welsummers is slightly feather legged and smallish in size to the other one, and one of the cuckoo marans is definatley not a full marans, she looks just like a barred rock, yellow legs and all. I'm not into showing or breeding, so it really doesn't matter to me, just thought I'd tell you my experience with them. I'm very happy with my little backyard flock!
Just wanted to add, I'd order from them again.
