sorry you lost one! That's sad! They are little cuties!

Here's hoping I can get a refund on it... but it's okay. It went very peacefully was even in a relaxed sleeping position like you know how chicks just spreaaaad when its just them in the warm spot? They did that when I left them and was still in that exact position (with rigor mortis) when I found them. They might have even died before the chicks pulled the pad over them to sit.

But man, they're so much smaller even then I thought they'd be.

The other six are fine and healthy and everyone seems to like my singing. Sung to them this morning and it not only hushed them but lulled them to sleep! Even the week olds. I was /this/ close to separating them this morning cause the week olds are starting to realize they can fly - straight into my day olds

Poor little banties XD The crying of these efforts are what woke me up this morning.

Would you separate week olds from day olds? and if so, when should they be re-introduced together?

And another seems like it's dying of whatever killed the other one. Just weak lethargic falls over a lot... *sigh* tried giving it some watery food.

I hope I get some extra w/ my Ideal order! If they give me 13 I will make them my first meaties, minus a couple for the layers I ordered. I guess you got "The Bonus Plan" !!

It was likely because the 7 I ordered were bantam chicks and half the size of normal ones that they gave me so many extras. I was thinking that too and then just SO MANY showed up it was like "mmmno." XD

and another dead one last night. Only 5 left...

But SO CUTE. Fluffpiiile!

ignore the therm readout. It was 90 like a second ago and like suddenly skipped to 85 so I turned the lamp up after the shot. :B

Thank you but at least the remainder seem strong and well. I just wish I wasn't holding the second one to die when they erm.. death throes then lost their bowels...

at least that confirmed they weren't killed by backup. Everyone has pasty butt which I'm hoping is clearing up soon. I tried blenderizing their crumbles into a finer mix and then mixed in some plain yogurt. Offered them some sand (at the very least the older birds are enjoying this as something to bathe in), added ACV to their water, cleaned them up as best I could and applied vaseline to their booties and surrounding fuzz. They still manage to get it despite all that and I believe it's because I had them all vaccinated that there's so many problems.

Also another fuzz pile! Starring everyone this time
