ordering chicks?

I had the same idea that you did, and it's still HOT where I live and the garage is the perfect, toasty brooder. Got 2 BO's and 2 leghorns from MPC.....they are a great company and you can order small amounts....they pack them with this little heating pad. They arrived in perfect condition. I say, go for it! Enjoy your new fuzzy butts

I've ordered twice from Meyer - and have been exceptionally happy. I ordered 4 chicks - they arrived promptly in good health & were packed very well. My other order was hatching eggs - and it was very happy with them, too. You can order as few as 3 chicks from Meyer.

I ordered once from Ideal, got about 22 chicks when I ordered only 6

I have used My Pet Chicken since then and I have had happy healthy chicks every time. As other people have said they use a heat pad so you can place an order for a small amount of chicks if you so wish. Good luck!

I just got a batch of chicks from Meyer Hatchery in OH. Chicks are doing fine, happy, warm and healthy.

We have ordered from My Pet Chicken twice, each time we ordered 8 chicks. All came healthy...BUT...in our first order we did get a rooster, which we didn't want. They only way to be sure you get all girls (that I know of) is to order sex linked chicks. We have been very happy with MPC. And our rooster has turned out to be a good boy (so far).
