what is the secret to timing a set if you order eggs and want to include eggs from your own stock In the same load.
If I start saving eggs the day I order will I get to collect 7-10- days worth of my own before the eggs arive. I know I am over thinking this, Right?

depends when you order the eggs. Lets say you bought the eggs on Monday an they send them out tuesday they should get to you by Thursday or Friday and then let them rest for a day so if you start saving your eggs on monday and save until friday or Saturday that will be 5 to 6 days.

Just pick a date to start collecting your own eggs and place the order so that it arrives when your oldest eggs are about 7 days old. Fertility starts to drop after 7 days old so try and plan on the order arriving before yours are too much older than 7.

Or you can keep a running collection of eggs. Write the date(s) they were collected on the tray. Then when the mail order eggs arrive, count back 10 days, and discard any eggs that are before the 10 day mark.
When I get ready to collect eggs for hatching, I'm planning on placing them directly into a quil rail in the egg turner. When I get 10 days worth of eggs collected (or when I am eventually able to fill the rails), I'll place the entire egg turner into the incubator and turn it on, keeping an eye on the temperature, ensuring that it levels off and remains at 99.5.
Have fun and good luck

Iv'e worked out a code that I am marking the eggs with. It will tell me when the egg was laid and which group layed it.
I will boil the eggs that get to old for chick feed.
My next question is how many eggs do I need to order to add new blood to my line.
