I ordered pullets...I think I got straight run! I find it interesting that the roosters are aggressive to each other..

They are babies! I have some that are bearded , some that have full cheeks. This sounds and looks like they were bred up but not pure. Oh well I don't care they are very sweet chicks. Although they were black and white chicks, I think the white ones will be red and some mottled or maybe speckled is the color. The black ones , barred, splash and maybe some black

I'm hoping TSC here has what they did last year. I really want a few blue breasted brown leghorns and maybe a few blue andalusians. Or some bantams. These would be in addition to the 35 coming from Cackle.

I still need to cull about 4 to 6 roosters from last years order.

What does TSC usually have in store? I was having trouble finding much info online about that. All I kept seeing was what you can order from them online.

It seems to be very random when I've gone in.

The TSC here removed their chick pens and put other merchandise in that place.
The idea of destorying commercial hen houses.. now trying to keep backyard people from buying.

Mine does that in the winter. They put the area back with brooders once they start their chick days. Regional start dates will vary.

All the farm stores do that.

Can't waste space on something they're not using during the winter.

We are getting just 2 barred rock and 2 speckled Sussex but I had to switch up our plans abit.

I had a breeder an hour away with nice dark BCM she has been working on for a few years. I really wanted to darken up our basket my Marans color Is just ok. But she upped her price to $25 per chick I felt was abit too high. We are just backyard fun chicken gals here I’m not planning on breeding them so I’ve opted for 4 splash Ameraucana chicks straight run will see if we add a rooster this summer or not.

Reading tons about the rooster world so we will see how that turns out, but with our mixed egg color flock we have seems like it could be fun to experiment with if we chose to down the line.

It's a surprise Every year. Out TSC has chicks in the spring starting at about the end of Feb and in the fall at end of Aug and beginning of September.
