Aww..there ain't nothing like a baby goat! I used to have a nubian bottle baby that would climb up in my lap, drink his bottle, and fall asleep (and pee all over me) lol. SO sweet though!!!

Well, I may end up interested in a few things. We just lost 20 birds to a weasle, including my sweet little Cochin and Chaeli's D' Uccle. We lost all of my husbands Partridge Rocks and the Buff Laced Polish Crested that we were raising for my friends DD. Not to mention our first little mutt chick that we hatched out of our mixed flock. They were being pastured in a hay house surrounded by electric netting, which I have had skunks hit and run from. I guess I learned the hard way that regaurdless of others success with similar set ups, it was not to be that way here. Replanning and reorganizing. The part that sucks is that I was just about to seperate the Bantams from that group. Their coop is sitting in my yard just waiting for a door. Two more days, and at least those two would've still been here. Anyway, I'm not pushing it, but if DD brings it up that she would like to raise another D' Uccle, I would let her. And I may be interested in a couple of Bantam Cochins. oregonJen, what are you selling your Buckeyes for, you can PM me if you'd rather. I won't be ready until I get a better set up going for the pasture, but if I do before the swap, I would maybe be interested.

Chickboss, I just sent you a message. I am really sorry to hear about your chickens. We have had that happen a few times over the years and it just about kills me every time. Predators were the reason I stopped breeding chickens a few years back. I had raccoons kill my huge flock of Seramas.

K-7- I am so sorry, Two emails from you just came through. Please let me know if you did not get one from me this morning there seems to be some sort of delay. I would be happy to meet up with you in the next week.

Oh, and if anyone is interested, Ideal is offering bantam chicks for 85 cents each this morning, minimum of 25. That is the lowest price I have ever seen offered from the hatcheries. We only do SQ bantams here so I have to pass.

Ooohhh that is so tempting! There is no way I could handle 25 more though and in this area it is really hard to find people who want bantams. Jen, I would be interested in your splash or blue mottled cochins (pullets only) - standard or bantam. They seem to be my new fetish lol. I cannot get enough cochins! PM if you get a chance. Wanted to know how the Buckeyes worked out for you too.

I'm so sorry to hear about your chickens Chickboss

Thanks oregonJen, your message didn't go through for some reason. That is horrible about you Seramas, they seem like sweet little birds. It is heartbreaking for sure. We caught a skunk in the trap this a.m. I really have my suspicions that this is the wrong critter though. I will set the trap again, just to be sure. From everything I have heard, neighbors input, reading, this really looked to be a weasle attack. Thanks to Zoomummzy... LOL, those little Cochins are just the sweetest things...

Awesome! I hope you got at least one pullet in the mix. My two are funny and soooo big already! They are as big as those two cochin mutt mixes I got from you in May and they are only a couple months old! Looking forward to the email....

I knew I couldn't leave my "want" as nothing

Laura, want to make sure I've got it right - you want cochin pullets and buckeyes added to your want list?

(I've got 2 d'uccle eggs in the bator as a test hatch, they're mille fleurs, but I'd give them to Chaeli if she wants them)...

Cloverleaf, you just made me tear up. Yeah, she would want them. Keep me posted, and thank you, that is so sweet.
