Ok, who has the Midge White turkey poults????????? Gnarley? I can't remember, someone up in WA is looking for some.....

That's me. I just had 13 babies come out of the forest with momma a couple days ago. I put her in a 12 x 50 foot pen and she took off for the forest today in the pouring rain. I have to find her.

I thought so.

Chickielady on here is looking for some if you have any available, she's on the washingtonians thread...

Lara, Bebe has been doing this weird head shaking thing since I got her, does she always do that? And just today I saw that she was limping on her left foot. Does that have anything to so with the head thing?

Thanks! I will check her out.

Drum roll, please.... and the verdict is: 2 huge white ram lambs! I had no whites, so that's cool (yes, I am predjudiced against white animals, but don't tell my dog, cat, turkeys, etc.). Over 12 lbs and over 11 lbs! Yikes, no wonder she was enormous!

So the total is 7 lambs born to 4 ewes. 3 boys and 4 girls.

I am just glad she is not pregnant any more, it was painful to watch her!

My husband brought home a left over lunch tray from a potluck. Not alot left, but the bottom was just covered with that bright leaf lettuce. I thought, the chickens would just love that!

So I grabbed some up and took it to the cages. These silly birds were scared to death of it!

Would not even go near any it! You would have thought I brought home deadly animals and put them in everyone cage.

It was just Lettuce! My dogs ate it, but the chickens just ran away! Silly birds, won't eat anything but chick feed.

Question on egg hatching.
I have (had) 12 duck eggs in my incubator. Yesterday was 'lockdown' day. I took out 2 today and 'tested' them. I have had very poor results. One egg, nothing, just a yellow yoke. (after 21 days). The second, which was one I thought had beed a 'good' egg, had what looked like yellow cottage cheese mixed with the yoke. These eggs were bought off of ebay, shipped from TN. I let them sit 24 hours, to settle, before placing them in the bator. Bator had been sitting and running for 48 hours before placing eggs in. Temp was a constant 95 degrees and I used an automatic turner. I kept the humidity around 45-50. I also kept eggs sprayed with warm water the days before 'lockdown'. I was trying to follow what I had read in books. Knowing that ducks needed more humidity and took a few more days then chicken. So today is day 22, the duck,(which is Cayuga) is to take 23 days. WHAT I'M I DOING WRONG!! Someone out there please help me! I hatched chicken eggs last summer at my mother's, hatching rate was 100%. This year between chickens, seramas, and now ducks; my rate is 0%. I bought I decent incubator with the temp and turner, plus; and nothing! I hatched last year with a kids, cheap, $19.99, domed incubator; and every egg we put in that thing hatched!
