Oregon Fall Poultry Swap - October 22 - Corvallis @ the Fairgrounds!!!

Thanks! I will let her know. I'm not sure she wants chicks though. She is looking for already laying birds. Her husband doesn't want to deal with brooding them, but I'll ask anyway

My mind is always whirling and about 10 steps ahead, lol so I already have the flyer made for the swap but would like to update it about 2 months prior to include as many different breeds/types of birds and items being brought as possible. This area is really starved (in my opinion) for quality, unique and different breeds of not only chickens but other poultry/fowl as well. I think if we get as much information out to the public that we can, it will benefit all of us

So, when updating your wants and haves down the road, try to give me specific breeds if you can/know. Thank you

I am also going to put out a feeler ad on Craigslist to get some local farms/breeders involved. I have a few on my facebook who I think would enjoy having a table there if they had enough notice.

I need another coop!

He will build it! He gets his supplies at cost or if you want even cheaper and aren't in a huge rush, he will shop at Habitat for recycled items. That is where he is getting the supplies for my tractor.

Find out. I can ask Rhonda about setting aside a few nice pullets and a cockerel for her out of our hatchings this next month or so. They would probably not be to POL by the swap but would be fine for being outside with no lights.

You're spot-on about the area being staved for unusual birds! Being newly obsessed I've been scouring all over and it's not really plentiful around here if you want something special or above average.

When the flyer is ready I'd be happy to post a few around Dallas, Monmouth, Independence, and likely Salem too. I'd even display one in my farmers market booths!

Gonna be a long wait, I'm already squirming with anticipation!

That is so awesome, thank you!!!! Yeah, it's really difficult to find nice and different birds for your flocks here. I work with Del's every year, trying to get them to expand their orders but so far they've only branched out to Polish. I'm very excited at all the different breeds people will be bringing to the fall swap and I'm looking forward to meeting you

I know she won't want a rooster, she has mine already

and she will want them old enough to be outside, at least 4 months old. I will ask her. She doesn't have a lot of money to spend so it will be what she can afford at them.
