There will be a lot of birds for sale at the show...there always are. Not too many LF though it seems like. The earlier you get there the better choices you will have...

So, do you have to buy and imediatly remove birds, or can you look around and then pick them up later that day?

I've tried the BYC shirt, name tag etc at shows (I go to the Ohio National almost every year) and I've never run into another BYCer yet even though they are there and wearing the same stuff I was! There is just so much going on...especially there...that you never seem to run into anyone.

Is anyone bringing silkies? My daughter wants one and she said if I got her one she would do 4-H with her brother and younger sister. Looking for a pullet

Yes, I am wanting a polish pullet! The golden laced one, is her feathers that darkish reddish brown colored? I've been collecting the feathers from my other chickens and I don't have many 'dark' feathers. Plus I love the look of the gold laced. So if she isn't spoken for, put me down.
Thanks,
Paula
ps (I would love the Mille roo, but I think I would have problems with Hef. He rules the roost and I'm afraid of bringing in more roos) He is very pretty! oh....handsome!

Okay, I'll consider her officially reserved.

Her feathers are gold brown with black lacing. I think my gold laced cross polish have much deeper mahogany red/gold color. I'll post a picture of each and you can decide which you prefer.

Okay here are some pictures of the two polish girls I have that are dark. Let me know which one you prefer.

The gold laced looks like this:

She is much darker than the gold laced, and her gold is redder. They are both super sweet.

Been meaning to throw this out here for discussion for quite some time now, but I keep forgetting

Thank you CathyM for sending me a PM as a reminder

In the past, we've always done a potluck for the swaps. We have it on the website now because well, we've always had one. However, they have seemed to be difficult to manage in the past (the one down south was perfect!) due to the location. This time around, we have a very nice kitchen area (or something similar - I haven't seen it yet) to set up in but I need to know if people are interested in carrying on this tradition or not. I have no opinion one way or another and would ask if it is decided we will have one, that someone grab the reins and organize it for us. I don't think we will get any of the outside people coming to bring something, though I could be surprised, but I also don't think we can turn them away from eating if they don't bring something. It gets very tricky. The other thing is no one ever wants to...or can...leave their tables during the day. We barely have time to use the bathroom (we have a nice set of those in the building!). It was suggested to eat before we open, but I'm thinking that is unrealistic just because I know how everyone is trying to get cages and stuff unloaded and set up. Nutcakes will be there selling donuts and stuff for people who want to grab and eat before everyone shows up. It was also suggested to eat after we close the doors. This is possible but would everyone want to stay after cleaning up to eat?

So, what would everyone like to do......

and yes, I'm up late...hatch day

9 beautiful little Serama babies added to the bunch

60% hatch...not bad for mostly shipped eggs this time around. Which reminds me, Cloverleaf, I'd love to get some of your Serama eggs
