Cloverleaf does Fav B and hopefully by spring I may have some RIR B. I am just getting going with them.

Yes, I do. I've got an Tabestani Malas Biranden, an Entek Habi, a Sirenevyi, and one that lost it's label, so I don't know what it is.

They go dormant just like a fruit tree. The leaves turn yellow and fall off and the plant sleeps all winter and wakes up with new leaves in the spring.

I don't know if they are hardy in the valley. Mine are in pots and now inside under lights because they might not take the winter temperatures here. I bought pomegranates from really cold regions of the world, so in theory, they are hardy enough to be outdoors here, but I am not taking any chances with mine.

What variety of Pomegranate do you have?

To make this poultry related, I am hoping to get enough fruit that the ducks can eat some pomegranate seeds.

Have any of you ever LOST a chicken? I mean not one who died... just one who took off?
One of my very favorites (and the first one to earn a wing clipping for her adventurous nature) has vanished. She's crafty, fast, and very well camouflaged so I do not suspect predators. All I know is that she hopped the fence (I found a few feathers I think were pulled out by our dumb dog-not enough to do real damage I am certain)and she hasn't been seen since. I live out in the country and there are many others around with chickens so my thought is the little monster adopted a new home, not wanting to return the way she had come because of the dog and being unsure how else to come back. I bet some one else would take her in... I would if a little pullet that pretty showed up in my yard!
The question is how to get her back?
Should I put up posters? There really isn't any way I could reach out to most of the area. No gathering place, and since everybody drives the phone poles won't catch any attention. Especially in this weather. Or cat went missing this summer and posters yielded no information at all. I think no one saw them.
What would you do?

Have you tried CraigsList? I have a dog that will dig under our fence once in awhile. I haven't had to go to CList, but I did check into it, just in case. (Under PETS, or maybe even under Farm....and it is free).

What would you do?

I would put a poster up at the co-op in Central Point and one where ever you get you feed, if they have chickens then they will see that sometime.​
 
I would still do the telephone poles in your immediate area. She won't have gone very far, so you don't have to cover a large area. Put the notices inside a ziploc bag to keep the rain off of them.

If you happen to be in an area that has gang box mail boxes, that's where lost pet notices go around here. Everybody stops to get their mail, so you get everyone in the neighborhood.

I would go out knocking on doors. Again, she won't have gone far, so you don't have to cover a large area and you don't have to talk to everyone. People will mention it to their neighbors if they find a chicken. If you've got a busybody in the neighborhood, tell her.
