Oregon Fall Poultry Swap - October 22 - Corvallis @ the Fairgrounds!!!

I am so glad you were able to take him. He turned out to be way sweeter than I ever would have guessed. (As babies from day 1 he and his sister were wild run away chicks that would freak out any time I came into their pen.) I enjoyed bringing him out and showing him off.

Soooo....

Might any of you know where I might find a nice buff rock rooster/cockeral?
I am heading to Seattle on the 10th-13th, so if I can find one between here and there in the next 2 weeks (preferably along I5) I could pick him up on my way home.
I am working on a breeding project and need a big, dual purpose, light colored roo who will be faster maturing than my buff orps. Because rock is not my end goal, I don't care what the quality of the rooster is. To suit my needs he just has to be big, buff, and being good tempered would be a plus too. A young one would be fine since he won't be breeding till spring, and I could even be fine with a few straight run chicks or hatching eggs. I wouldn't mind having hens too, I just figure the rooster is the thing I need most that most people need to get rid of!

Posting this as you guys are around the PNW and he could be picked up at the Feather Fanciers show. He's a very nicely tempered, very fertile, bird.
I have posted for sale a Wyandotte cock that I traded for from Christine (she raises and shows SLW, Buff silkies, etc) from Oregon. I have found another cock that is more closely related to my flock for line breeding. This bird came from the Foleys originally. He is about 1.5 years I believe, and his fertility is very high.
I wanted to let you guys know because it would be nice for him to stay in the NW.

Black with the tiniest bit of white on the wing tips. Just thought I would pass the info to you.
(Now, I'm keeping fingers crossed for it to grow to be a hen!

) I'll try and keep you updated.
Thanks,
Paula
ps. I will love it even if it turns out to be a roo!

The eggs were pretty good size, so I'm guessing LF. It is a cutie (and already spoiled!) I had an appointment this morning, and I took baby chick with me.

My hubby thinks I'm nuts! Just put the little guy in my purse (with a tiny blanket), and went on my way! My Doc loved it! She is about as nutty as I am!
