Glad she had fun!!

Clover, we had a 4-H meeting today. New2chick's son is in it and I got to meet her other cuties! It's interesting how there is a large group of my kids who are very motivated and want to learn about chickens and then I have a couple of others who are just there. They participate in the meeting but that's about as far as it goes. I think it's their parents pushing the 4-H.

Are there any breeders of show quality orpingtons and australorps in OR or WA? I have one girl who doesn't have chickens yet, but she has made a shopping list. Cute. Silkies and faverolles are on it, but I know whom to go to for those two breeds.

Christina Korfus has AWESOME Orps, and also check with piperomar (on the Bend swap thread) she's got the English Orps too. Don't know anyone with sq Australorps though...

I think Jen down here in Cottage Grove has had in the past sq orpingtons and australorps. Her screen name is OregonJen.

Thank you. I'll pm her. I don't think she's addicted to this dang forum like I am. I just leave it up and running!

Oh yeah, I heard the Korfus' have nice birds and I will check piperomar on the bend swap. This girl was so cute. She has no chickens yet but she was well versed in chicken. I suggested that she think about a bantam version of the BA or the faverolle for showmanship. She's been emailing me for a month about chickens!

Hey, I got to go out to kelar's farm today and picked up 3 sweet little silkies!

My other silkie, Canby, snuggled right up to them.

I think the Seramas must not have liked it. I kept them apart, but they didn't act happy

about losing 'their' silkie 'baby'. They both kind of hollered for a bit, but then settled down.

I picked up a buff colored one, a black one, and another partridge colored one. I would have gotten more, but I promised my hubby only 3.

It was such a beautiful day he wanted to take the drive to Yacolt with me. So it was a little hard to sneak a couple of extra.

Bummer! Oh well, I have 4, that should be enough.

I was thinking......ducks....maybe!??!!??

Did someone say, 'Chickens were like potato chips. You just can't stop at one'!?!?!?! Darn them! I must have caught the 'fever'!

NZ's they will be purebred and pedigreed. I am buying some with in the next month (already proven breeders from another breeder) for my own meat needs and plan on selling some for pets and such.

So any color requests I can try for. Also depending on the age you want I can easily time breeding.

Do you butcher your own? I've been trying to find a source for already butchered rabbits...

Yes I will butcher and dress my own. Thought I can't sell them already butchered; it is illegal. I can how however sell them 'alive' and then butcher them for free.

If the poultry bill passes I can sell them butchered because rabbits are considered poultry.

Where bouts are ya? DS has been wanting to try rabbit, though since we JUST got 2 pet rabbits, I don't think I could bring myself to off one of the fuzzy little critters just yet..
