Oregon Fall Poultry Swap - October 22 - Corvallis @ the Fairgrounds!!!

Sorry to change the subject from the entertaining camping and BBQ mini-swap stories, but I have some lambs that need a ride. I would really like to get 3 little lambs from the Doty, WA (near chehalis) area. Is anyone coming through there and up north? I am more than willing to meet in Bremerton or even Tacoma area to pick them up. Tallyho-is your hubby coming that way?

Thanks all!

Yes it is! So excited about this summer swap. Plus, it's mid June in central Oregon - the most beautiful part of our great Pacific Northwest! If nothing else, just come to the swap and spend the rest of the weekend at the lake!!!

I'm super bummed I can't make it. But it's too close to my best friends wedding which I'm serving in and making the cake.

Yes, he'll be heading up there probably within 2 weeks. He's in LA LA land now, poor guy. He didn't drive though! Maybe he should work on egg transport too, huh? Chickens, bunnies, eggs, lambs....

I'll ask when he's going up again and I'll let you know.

Ok lock down for saturday hatch begins. The new incubator only has about a dozen still viable

. The homemade one that lost ALL the eggs after power outage only has 7 in it. So far all 7 look good so at this point I'd be happy with like 5 chicks. Sure don't remember it being this hard for my Mom, sheesh. Hoping it will get better once I really know both the incubators - what do you think? And, anyone willing to sell me more eggs to try again

Really want to try ducks but must have some chicks first as I've heard ducks are harder. Do all you guys agree?
My old farm Mom used to put quail, chicks, AND geese in the old incubators and just pull them out as they hatched and seemed to do great. Do some people have feathered thumbs (I sure don't have a green one

) If I ever get the hang of this my goal is eggs bought at every swap instead of chickens (can't count them until hatched, hehe)

I need one like that! Very nice. BTW, I'm up and around so maybe we can meet this weekend.

Saturday afternoon I have my uncle's memorial service and probably an early dinner with my mom while she's town...and have to leave for work at 3 on Sunday...hmmm...maybe during the week would be better??

Really?! For your family? WOW! Be prepared to fall in love... unless you are gonna eat them.

When are they ready to go? I might be going to Kelso for some fencing soon. Might be.

Yes they will be for eating...they are on a cl ad, but the guy is not getting back to me. I think I have a more local lead.
