I would say bring your hatching eggs if you have some because there will be a lot of local traffic as well as people from the swap so you never know what people will be wanting. As far as preordering eggs from someone on the swap thread, probably a good idea so they know how many to bring but a lot of people just bring whatever they have the day of the swap too. I know that is what I did in April.

Don't suppose anyone will have call ducks or call duck eggs at the swap (late for eggs, I know)? My duck incubation stinks in current incubator(s) and have one nice and one handicapped duckling, soo not the plan. Just curious. I have two gray calls (males of course) and want to expand to fill the space, hehe.
Let me know if anyone will have calls (or possible other bantam ducks?)

My son walks along, pulling any weed that he knows the geese like to eat so he can throw them treats. I don't think it has ever occurred to him that he is weeding.

The male is potentially exhibition quality, but has not fertilized any eggs this year (I've never seen him try). One of the females (the smaller of the 2) hatched and raised her own babies last year, and is a 2 year old. The other pair are a year old. They are still laying, though the one girl is thinking of going broody again.

They are from Mahlum's waterfowl, I paid a pretty penny for them last October...

So I purchased several nice new "pullets" to add to my laying flock at the Spring Swap. I was happily looking forward to this fall when they would all grow old enough to begin laying. But it seems that each time I go out to the chicken yard another "pullet" has decided it really prefers to be a rooster!!!!

I now have a banty cochin roo, an olive egger roo, and a BCM roo (I think) in the laying flock! Luckily they are all too young to notice the girls and no one is fighting. But I guess it's time to seperate them out and start looking for new homes.....(I am a vegetarian so no freezer camp for my boys

). I am mostly disappointed by my number of laying hens going down, down, down. Oh well.

ETA At least the welsummer hen I got from Cloverleaf has been laying me an average of 5 beautiful speckledy eggs a week since I brought her home.

Thought I could wait until the swap to find my rooster a home but it looks like I can't. He's gotten really loud and the neighbors have noticed. Anyone want a 3 month old black silkie rooster? He's such a sweetie. He's gotten some beautiful green feathers on him and is starting to get a gold ring around his neck. I'll post pictures soon. Please only to a home that will keep him as a pet only not as dinner! He is my baby and I will miss him so much.
