Oregon Fall Poultry Swap - October 22 - Corvallis @ the Fairgrounds!!!

Thought I would share a few photos of the babies, growing up fast! The next batch is set to hatch next week already! Dusty and Fawn have several eggs in this batch so I'm pretty excited...and nervous!

I have never raised a turkey, so can't help you there....but I do know that you can feed your chickens grits. They will love them! Chickens can eat just about anything as long as it doesn't have too much salt or sugar in it. I'm sure your birds will gobble up leftover grits.

I know that my flock LOVES oatmeal mixed with mashed bananas. The hen I got from Cloverleaf even makes little grunting, slurping pig noises when she eats it!

If anyone is looking for a few more mature birds I have the following to offer:

March hatch
Lemon blue Cochins (non hatchery) sample pic below
Brabanter crosses - this one is black pullet
Thor the mighty rooster - my jersey giant roo make big chicks! This one will be as big as the JG and he's crossed with a Brabanter hen so coloring is nice.

April hatch
Blue Laced Red Wyandottes in multiple color variations. If your wanting a breeder rooster I have a number to pick from as I think they outnumber the pullets. (non hatchery)
Mottled java pullets
Spanish Penedesencas (lays a very dark brown egg)
Egyptian Fayoumi pullets
Cuckoo Maran - supposed to be a pullet but now I am thinking possible rooster

I thought I would ask here first before I post them for auction this week - I will have 6+ Serama eggs available by Tuesday/Wednesday for shipping or pickup in Philomath. I am landlocked this week so can't deliver them or meet you anywhere - sorry! The eggs would be free to any of my fellow swap buddies

, you'd just pay shipping which has been running about $7 for this amount of eggs. A lot of my younger hens from my frizzled pen are laying now, along with Fawn and Brigette from Juliette, so there will be a mixture in this batch. Let me know by the end of the weekend if you'd be interested.

Hey Laura! My mom TOTALLY wants to get some Serama hatching eggs from you. She's a teacher in Louisiana and wants to hatch them out with her K students. She's got a brin mini I think. She starts school in August and was wondering if you'd ship to her in Sept?

Also! FINALLY finished with my crazy wedding weekend! Here's a not so great pic of it in the fridge. You at least get the idea.

Anybody interested in some buff Orpington / Faverolle cross pullets? They're about 8-12 weeks old now, all have some leg feathering, most have some sort of beard / muffs, I don't think any of the girls have the Fav 5th toe.

I also have a couple extra cockerels of this same cross.

They will be intermediate size, daddy is a smaller large fowl buff Orpington (super sweet boy) and moms are bantam buff Favs that are a little bit big.

Yep, I sure can ship her eggs! I have her in my book for September. My new website link is in my signature line. She can contact me via there or through you when she is ready. I need about a week's notice to get 12-18 eggs.

I still have you and Jeanine on the list...let me know if that is still a want
