I took Amanda out of Frankie's cage. He is just so rough. He did not like that a bit!! Should of heard him holler! I never heard that kind of noise come out of him. I put Amanda with Angus. He is a lot smaller, so I thought she could handle him better. Your should have seen him strut around the cage. I guess he was trying to impress her or at least appear tough. I have found that Frankie doesn't like change or not getting his way! If I rearrange his cage, he destroys it. If I add something, he destroys it. I put in a small box with some straw in it last night. He first walked around like he was almost afraid of it. This morning, all the straw was out and thrown around in the cage and on the floor and the box was turned completely over. I guess he was telling me what he thought about that! He is the KING. He tells us that every morning!
I finally had to move the ducks. I made them a sleeping spot and moved all their food bowls to the bathroom. They are now in the tub. It is a good thing we have 2 bathrooms. They are cute and a lot of fun, but super messy!! I had them in a large plastic tub and I was cleaning it out twice a day. And it still looked like it wasn't! It is a real good thing they are cute and fun! Janice, the lady I got them from, told me ducks matured faster then chickens, so they will be ready to go outside in a few weeks. IT IS A REAL GOOD THING! I went back out to her house again the other day. She is a real nice lady. She took me to her (outside) pens and showed me my ducks' parents. They are from Holderread (? spelling?) Farm. I gave her one of the Swap's flyers. She said that she had heard of the swap, but didn't know where this next one was. Told her to check out the website also. She lives in Ridgefield. She has a nice set-up. Her sister helps her out. Said she would like to make the swap, but didn't know 100% at the time. I would be a drive for her. It is a drive for me and she lives further out.
Anyway, eggs still look good. Still early (I keep having to remind myself). But still keeping fingers crossed. Got to get all the 'other' chickens outside (and soon). I will need the chicken room for the seramas!! (and they aren't near as messy as the regular chickens) OMG!! They really need to be outside!! My house is starting to smell like a barn! I'm cleaning cages 2 times a day, and it is just not enough!! The silkies don't seem to mind. They are so quiet and they just sit where ever I put them. They are funny also.
I guess I should stop ranting for awhile. I do have stuff I should be doing.
Thanks to everyone for all the advice. It helps alot!! (notice, I've not used smileys in awhile. Must be tired of them already. Nope, just typing and forgetting Ha Ha. Trying to get spelling correct!)
