Maybe $100 for the license but before your done they will require some security for the event if for only
to be sure noone leaves the building with said adult beverage and of course those under 21.....

Hey I can help supply the security

(a friend that does these things)

To make it worse the security would have to be licensed by the State.

Not saying it can't be done. Just need to open the purse a little wider.

We lost the Dominique... a few times! The same young cockerel kept making a bold-faced attempt every time you went in to grab another bird. Poor guys were stressed and just wanted to be left alone I think. Thankfully many of them went together so they were able to have their "gang" to hang out with in their new homes. Between the skunks and the young great horned owl tormenting the birds the last week or so they have all been on edge

.

We had a fabulous time as always. Met many folks we've met before and always happy to hear stories of how their chicks/eggs/birds did, and also met many new faces. And as always did well on the business end. This time the only thing we brought back (bird wise) was a few Japanese cockerels that didn't sell and three stew hens someone brought in for me to do the dirty deed, they bought replacement pullets at the swap

.

I also got a ton of seeds and some plant starts at the end. I'm a terrible gardener so I doubt they'll live, but maybe they will grow enough to be chick treats in the spring

. Bought a feeder and waterer for my mom's chickens but avoided buying any more birds! Heehee... until I got suckered into one of Rhonda's sons Jap cockerels as she's loading up to leave my house! Argh!

Homegroanacres....sending you a PM about a different matter lol

Hey guys!! It was so great to see everyone yesterday!!!
smile.png
Sorry I didn't get a chance to post when I got home. When I pulled in the driveway (after taking DS to the inlaws house WAY out of my way) DH was all dressed up and ready to go OUT!!
th.gif
ALL I wanted to do when I got home last night was take a hot bath and go to bed!! BUT he never wants to go out so I wasn't about to say no. So, got the few birds that came home all put away, went inside, got cleaned up, and out we went. I was SO tired!!! I made him drive and I slept in the car going both directions.

SO...I will put the Spring swap thread up in a few minutes...

In the meantime, I want to point out CR's earlier post about checking the Oregon thread to see the challenge issued to us by the Washington thread. Many of you do not post on the Oregon thread, and may not go see what it's all about...SO - it is a challenge to "paint our thread PINK" for breast cancer awareness. One of our own on the WA thread has been recently diagnosed and is only beginning the battle of her life, as is another WA BYCer who is not making it public knowledge (I only know that she is out there, and that hers is more advanced, I don't know which person it is). I received a very touching email from the first of the two telling me how much it meant to her that I changed my avatar. It doesn't seem like much, but it's a small way to show her and anyone else battling that we support them and think of them, even if we don't get to talk to them every day, and even if we do not know them personally....

So in support of those who are currently fighting, those who will in the future, those who have survived this awful disease, and those we have lost...please take a small, seemingly insignificant step and change your avatar, even if only briefly, to show how much Oregon cares.....

Good morning, ahem, afternoon
