I am really hoping people want some barnyard mix roosters....I have 4 that are crowing their heads off! I don't want to send them to Silkiechicken's freezer camp

I have a mildewy old quickshade that I will be bringing if it's yucky out, but I don't know if we could ALL fit under it! LOL It would look even worse than this:

That is a bit much for a few dinners, and is more than I really need at once down here meat wise as I'd want unfrozen... But 6 bucks a pullet is an excellent price! Surprised nobody has taken you up on that offer since they are already started and should be good to go in a few months. Only if I was going to go all the way home that weekend. LOL

At least recently the weather hasn't been too bad. Sun/clouds in the morning/afternoon, and rain at night. Only if this trend holds out!

I hesitate to use the term "show quality" as it is overused and abused. I call them high quality. I would like to show the two roos after they are done breeding because I think that they are really nice and did well in the online show. As far as the hens go, I have a couple that would probably show well. However, the ones that are producing the prettiest eggs are a bit muted in their color. I have had some grow up and be gorgeous and I have had others that were too ugly to keep around (splotchy breasted cockerels).

Yesterday was the hatch day for what I'll have to bring and I discovered a problem when I moved the eggs to the hatcher. A Red Sexlink egg "exploded" (cracked with a couple of little spurts) on the top rack of the incubator. All of the eggs that got some of the bad egg on them died which included half the Red Sexlinks and all of the Welsummers (which were on the rack right under the bad egg).

I am going to start breeding Lav Orps so I can bring you fresh Wellie eggs or I have a hatch due on the Monday after the swap or I'll buy some if that is what it takes. The Wellie girls are laying great right now so I'm expecting some big hatches for the next month or two.

Edited for clarity.

I think that it is a great deal, especially since I can't raise them for that little. People with any interest in started chicks need to let me know ASAP as I'm going to do some thinning because they are getting too crowded.
