Del's feed store in philomath has 8 dusty white/light blue straight run silkie chicks in their assorted bantam bin AND meat chicks!!! I SO WANTED TO BUY THEM!!!! But SO said no.

I went to Coastal in Albany. Their BSL's were pecking each other because they were crowded.
They were giving them away!

AND I RESISTED.

I told husband, expecting him to be proud of me.

His response? Free, eh?

Which of course means "go back and get ten or so," and so I did!

BSL! I need some of those. Wonder if it's time for a trip to Albany. :p Only have one BSL left at home and she's 4 going on 5 now. She almost stopped laying till I threatened her with replacement, which resulted in a big brown egg the day I got home for spring break. LOL Even funnier is that she laid an egg every other day for the 5 days I was home... and since I left, has stopped! They either fear me or love me.

Thanks for the offer, but Roy would kill me too! I have 3 in the bater and he says with the 6 chicks I brought home last time, I've once again hit my chicken quota. LOL Plus being down the grow out pens from the tree chopping, I'm out of pens. Only if I had enough time to be at home to build more!!! *evil laughter* You're making things too tempting.

Laura, sorry I missed getting some more info to you before you posted the update, I've been at a show and just got home (my black bantam Ameraucana cock took reserve Ameraucana!! Only got beat out by 1 of pips&peeps 6 birds that were there!!)

Anyway, IF and ONLY IF someone wants them FOR SURE, I have 2 pet quality large fowl salmon faverolles hens, and I have decided to part with the Fav roo that used to be my avatar - he is a SQ LF salmon Faverolles cock.
