Sorry I missed the big update, here's my current list.

Haves -

Chicken Diapers and Apron/Saddles

Here are some pictures of chickens in diapers - http://s1113.photobucket.com/albums/k505/Celiandy2/
(can't get link to work right, just copy and paste?)

Diapers -
I'll make them in 3 sizes -

small - tiny chicken - serama, silkie teen - $8

Medium - bantam, silkie, cochin - $8

Large - full size chicken - $10

They don't have a waterproof liner in them, I could add one if requested for $1 extra. With this design you could just use a thin feminine pad cut in half in the pouch.Let me know if you want any, what sizes and how many. If you have any color/print preferences, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Apron/Saddles -
Xsmall - $4.00

Small - $4.50

Medium - 5.50

Large - $6.50

Xlarge - $6.50
I can add a wing guard for extra ($3.50). I can also scotch guard for free (let me know in advance if you want me to). I'm happy to trade for just about anything too, just let me know what you have and maybe we can work something out.

LF buff cochin chicks, i should have about 6. Unsexed.
I can bring a dozen LF buff cochin eggs if anyone is interested.

I should have some silkie/cochin/frizzle eggs available if anyone wants a mix, they are all penned together for now. They are still young so the eggs aren't too big but they have been laying up a storm. Silkie(b/b/s and white) and frizzle bantam hens with a bantam roo and silkie roos(white, blue and buff).

Wants -

I would love some black silkie pullets but I'd also be happy with chicks or eggs.

Hatching eggs - turkey, frizzled anything, polish, silkie, cochin, california/valley quail, guineas, blue laced red wyandottes.

Bantam buff cochin pullet, or hatching eggs (1 dozen)

Zanna - 27lbs of honey

OregonJen - silkie pullets/chicks/eggs - black and buff, blrw eggs, ancona duck eggs, buff cochin eggs or a pullet, I could do 1 dozen of each if available??

ZooMummzy - Buckeye cheesecake

Tallyho - Cuckoo silkie roo

Mrweaw - 3 frizzled polish chicks, 2 Red silkie chicks

Reserved/Bringing -

Tallyho - buff silkie and 2 LF buff cochin chicks, 1 small diaper
Newtochick - 2 Large saddles, 2 xsmall saddles, 1 small diaper, 1 large diaper
Dancing Hen - 2 LF buff cochin chicks

My Narangansett hens are FINALLY LAYING and upon breaking open a couple of eggs (from different girls), they have that characteristic *bullseye* so I can't wait to get them in the incubators!! Just waiting for all the various Marans, Orpington eggs to hatch in a day or two!

So if anyone wants fertile Narangansett eggs, I will have a few to spare.

This is getting a little ahead, but that's how I roll, lol always looking to the future and making sure I have it under control!

The swap is back down here in my area this fall and I know this didn't go over too well before when I mentioned it, but I am going to look into hosting it at the Benton County Fairgrounds outside of Corvallis. I have a few reasons for thinking this is a good idea and being closer to my house really isn't one them
lol.png
All three of the main reasons for having it at this location kind of work together. One, we can get free advertisement on their sign board that thousands of people will see. It is a very busy road and most of those people are coming from rural areas into Corvallis, thus a lot of those people have chickens. We will also be in their monthly event calendar online, another thing that a lot of people pay attention to since they hold a lot of cool events there. Two, having it at this location would allow me to approach the two feed stores in the area that interact with a lot and see if we could get a little more promotion from both of them. Maybe they'd want to come out and set up a table or maybe just give some free things to raffle off, or just the fact if they were involved we would get more advertisement. Advertisement is big and is the reason we are growing each season. And three, all this advertisement of course means more profit for those selling birds, eggs etc. but it also promotes BYC and having backyard poultry in general. Poultry is already very popular in this area and more and more people are getting involved all the time. I can't tell you how many people I've met in my feed store every week just getting into chickens or thinking about getting chickens. It's huge. I also learned that just down the street from me and thus from the fairgrounds, is a huge exotic water fowl breeder. His name escapes me now. The fairgrounds has a very large park area right off the road. They also have a large poultry building, neither are expensive to rent and I'd be happy to take care of that (people could donate to it if they want like we have done in the past). Saturday is the Corvallis Farmer's Market downtown, which is a straight shot from the fairgrounds. A lot of people are out and about and in the mood for that sort of outside event. However, Beaver games also happen on Saturdays so we'd probably want to avoid that Saturday. And honestly, the fairgrounds is only 20 extras minutes from I-5. In my opinion, people/members who want to attend the swap drive the distance. I see there are a lot of people driving 4 hours to come to this one and we always have people from Eastern Oregon. My last reason for bringing this up now is I'd like to have a poster at this swap in Canby talking about the next swap location so that people can see this is an ongoing thing. That is probably the biggest question/comment I get when I talk about the swap.

So, what do you all think? I'm going to stop by the fairgrounds this week or next and get information, talk to them about it and possibly the feed stores if I have time to feel them out. I think we'd have great success in the fall, which is notoriously a little slower since chick/chicken season is winding down then, if we had it here instead of the park in Albany.

Never heard anyone so happy to get a rooster!

Steve said he was serenading him half way there! He was asleep when I got him last night so I didn't hear a peep out of him.
