Oregon Spring Poultry Swap April 23, 2011 in Canby!!!

12 of them are on our pasture right now. We're trying to figure out if we should butcher or not. We did our own last year, but 12 is a lot more than we did last year.

Anybody know of a processing facility around Oregon?

Just wanted to let everyone know I just posted the beautiful little Splash Silkie I got from oregonjen at the swap for sale (free really). https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=5082236#p5082236 I rehomed his friend yesterday and this seemed to bring out his crowing so away he must go. So much for all my dreams that he was a she

Tell me about it! Rehoming two roosters in just a week, both to loving homes. I'm breathing easy tonight and my family is very happy lol

George, my splash rooster, is sleeping in front of the fireplace tonight in his new owner's arms. They are watching a movie. She spoils her babies just like I do mine so it was a perfect match

The chicks are adorable! I fear at least 1 or both of the Millies are boys (can you tell from feathering??). I also fear the EE is but he is going to be a beautiful splash if he is. No idea about the mixes but they are just too cute! And of course, spoiled!! Miss Sally is living the good life in a large pen in the garage with my special needs rooster Jack, laying eggs and being happy in her retirement lol. He thinks she is his mother and is happy to have the company. She keeps him eating (he is a cross beak) and warm and he cleans her and sleeps under her wing at night. I have tried her outside with the flock several times but she doesn't want to be there. She wants to be under the heat lights inside so I'm not fighting it right now. Everyone is happy and healthy so it's all good

Thank you again for them all!

Oh and I'm off to the Ohio National next Saturday in Columbus with my daughter Emma. Can I pick anything up for anyone?

The American Bantam Association is holding their annual meeting there as well this year so there is going to be over 7000 birds....good thing I'm flying and no longer live in Ohio

(can you tell I'm attached? lol) Willie is getting specks all over her head and cape area....Millie is just golden. This is why I was wondering if you can feather sex Millies.... The 3 Millie/Silkie mixes are named after my favorite movie witches in Hocus Pocus
