I break all the rules too! I think helping them if they really need it overrides keeping the bator closed etc. Have fun with that one!

Thank you

Glad to know I'm not the only rule breaker

I had an LG, like you said, temp and humidity all over the place, terrible hatch rates. Finally got rid of it and bought a Hovabator. What a difference! Temp and humidity stable, great hatch rates, love it!

I have 21 Serama and OEGB eggs in my Brinsea right now and still have room for another 21+

I do love my Brinsea though. I've only had it a week but it is so awesome and so worth every penny (not sure hubby sees that yet lol). The temp and humidity has stayed right where it should be, only have to add water every 3-4 days, and the auto-turner...OMG! I will never be without one again. Now just to wait and see how the hatch rate is...gotta be better than I'm doing now.

The LGs are free, that's how highly I think of these pieces of junk.

I honestly do not know how the people who swear by these things do it. I have read every thing I could find on these and followed everyone's advice to the letter. None of it works. Period. I think the only way you can claim you get 90% or better hatch rates on these is if you only put in 2 eggs

I'm warming up my poor 'lil ol Hovabator now (can't get one of those fancy Brinsea ones like SOME people

). 2 dozen Mille Fleur Cochin eggs from Nadine in SC should be here tomorrow! I'm always nervous with shipped eggs, but everyone keep good thoughts for a successful hatch! If I do get a decent hatch, the ones I don't decide to keep I'll bring to the swap with me!
