That's what I tell anybody that asked about me hatching eggs... it's my science project

Riiiight....is that what you tell the DH? Let me know if that works.

Lol I actually don't tell him anything...I just do

Lost another chick in the incubator....the last one barely hanging on so I thought I'd immerse myself in fuzziness and take some photos of my babies. I'll post all that I've taken on my flickr site in the morning, but here's a sampling for you!

This is Tori, a Silkie that was supposed to be a Show Girl

And for fun, Isadora's "please no photos" look

Every time the camera would flash, they all would fly backwards in fright. It was sickly amusing lol.

I like the way you name them all with girl names. Positive thinking..
They are adorable. I really like Gabi and Isadora, if you want to sell them, I'd be interested

And how do you take such great pictures?! Are you keeping all the show girls? And what color is Gabi going to be? Is she a chipmunk?

No, idea how I get the photos, lol I just keep snapping till I get one I like. They usually tire of it before I do

It's funny how some just love to pose and others are really shy.

No idea if I'm keeping any of these or not, but you guys will be the first to know! Oh and no idea, she is chipmunk colored but more of a grey/black chipmunk. I have no idea what that is going to come out like. I thought I was getting lavender Show Girls but I guess I misunderstood.

Yep, they sure are still used to study embryology and development! My old PI is still not retired... he's been saying he is going to retire for the past decade or so I've heard.

I had a silkie that was born that same color. When he got older he was a beautiful black color with copper lacing...it looked like he had flames when he ran. He was my favorite just for his coloring but we had to give him away because he was a roo.

Good luck! They are beautiful pics!!!

Thanks for the advice on the incubators! I know they are expensive, but I justify it by saying a few hatches would pay for it and I could keep the chicks I really wanted!!! I just have to figure out which one I think is best. Sigh...I am really torn! I think I just need to look at some of them in action...but that is hard to do obviously...TallyHo...thanks for offer to come and see it, I will probably take you up on that, if you could PM me ways to get a hold of you I would appreciate it!

You could also try mine out if you want to ever. I won't be using it till later this summer and Portland isn't that far to pick it up when you are done. My daughter is possibly going to college there next fall so I might be up there a lot in the coming months. Just let me know!
