I'm glad everyone seems to be loving their cheesecakes too! I got to taste the mango today (had an extra one that I took to the guys at the feed store) and I have to say, it was delicious

Brutus and "Wildflower" as she is currently being called (Silver says she's not 100% on that, one of her little sisters recommended the name - I think it's cute!) are settled right in. Silver is ecstatic to get a new rooster, and says the MFBC "has a big butt!" - but that's a good thing in chicken world, right?

Also... if the person that sold is the red laced? bantam Cornish hen at the fall swap is reading this.. She (finally!) started laying eggs last week. Her eggs are huge - no wonder it took her so long! We were getting worried about internal laying, but she hasn't shown any sign of illness so I just figured the cornish aren't really known for their egg production

so Silver has been waiting patiently.

Now she'll have three eggs a day! Oh my!

Finally the chance to say a big THANK YOU !! to all of you that helped put this together. We had a great time and really enjoyed meeting some new faces. Unfortunately we had to skip out early due to a family get-together and I've promised myself that THAT won't happen again We purchased some soon-to-be exciting hatching eggs from a couple of you as well as vanilla from silkiechicken-Yum! Can't believe the difference in taste. Thanks also to those that purchased pullets from us. Please remember that although Ed does his best to confirm them as pullets, sometimes he misses the boat! If this happens, we'll do what we can to swap birds to make it right, though distance might be prohibitive. Anyway, I'm going to scroll back thru a few pages to see what I've missed then try to keep up with the Oregon Fall topic....surely there's one staerted already right!!

She was a cute little thing and glad to hear she's laying. You're right, Cornish not known to be great layers though DH had some standards that layed okay.
