Oregon Spring Poultry Swap May 5, 2012 in Canby!!!

Had a great time and am very pleased with the little silkie I was given today! I think did pretty good, sold 8 of the 11 i brought and only brought home 1 live bird. Do hatching eggs count yet as me adding to the chicken math! :) Hope to see you all again next swap.

Oh no, hatching eggs do not figure into chicken math, which is why I can say I came home with a lot less than I arrived with. What a fabulous day, had a great time and happy to meet fellow chicken nuts. :D
Will be watching for the fall swap thread.

Thanks so much, Jeanine - it was a wonderfully organized event, and thanks, also for letting me share your tent. I'm so glad to have met many of you! I had a good time, and hope I'll see many of you in October. Rustler, the little red metal chick is sitting amongst my houseplants because I can't yet bear to put it outside... but I will - it's so darling!

Did everyone DUST THEIR BIRDS after they got home? And are QUARANTINING the birds you brought home? Especially any NEW BIRDS!

I had a good time at the swap, But I came home with bugs I didn't have before I got their. Yuck!!!

Got the chickens I came for, got some honey, met nice people, thank-you for a great event and thank-you to my DH for circling the parking lot several times while I did all this!

On a seperate note.....

I had a wonderful time! Everyone was so nice and the crowd just kept rolling in!

Catch The big White Chicken was iniated by yours truly. I went to grab the first roo and he was out before I even had a chance. Then the second roo went flying at my face . I flinched and he was outa there! Everyone chased him all around the park and then into the parking lot, across the road, everywhere. All within about two minutes! We did catch both of them in the end, though.

I didn't sell a single bird, but sure came home with a bunch!

Firstly, I came home with all of the Urch/Turnland Dominiques!!!!! So excited and happpy, they are so friendly and I even got 3 eggs from the 4 hens while at the swap!!! Total their was 4 hens, 2 cocks, and 41 chicks!!

Next came the Seramas! I have a trio from one breeder and I have another pair from another breeder! The trio are all 13oz. and under and the Pair are a bit bigger. The hen is 15oz. and the roo is 16oz. They are all so friendly, too!!

Hope everyone enjoys their rasberries!!!

I had to aprk all the way up on the top of the hill leading into the park!!! What a long walk. But only after I'd unloaded my stuff at the swap first.

Thanks so much for letting me and Stephanie join you fun! We had a blast showing the seramas and letting them roam the cages. they seam to be a hit. But most of all, we loved the people and enjoyed our selves so much. Thanks for working so hard and putting this event on,
Anna at RRF

I want to offer a really big

T H A N K Y O U

to Jeanine.

I had a super good time. very little sleep the night before but everyone was so helpful and kind. Skye's Ms Gwen was the best kid ever. J's Garret was the super-duper tent putter-upper. My voice is 'strained' but then I kinda have the big, fluffy face that must exude 'friendly'...... =:~)

Finally got away to find my Jellie-Lady so I could stock up -- twice! Need to get my bulbs planted and berrie starts over to MIL's and planted....

Oh my, can hardly wait to October

cyber hugs to ya'all
k/
