Oregon Spring Poultry Swap May 5, 2012 in Canby!!!

Sounds like I'll be staying overnight in Corvallis and leaving from there the day if the swap to get there extra early.

So, how much space are we going to be allowed at this swap? Is it just the space for our tables or are we aloud to expand a bit and use some of the grass as well?

Just wondering since I have a couple of metal dog fences and such that I would like to set up if I'm able to. And also the Chicken Bingo may take up some extra space.

What if we put you on a corner? Generally, people bring the 10 x 10 or 12 x 12 quick shades, and that's pretty much your space. I don't want to have people going too far out in front of their spaces because it cuts off the flow of the foot traffic to other vendors. BUT if you were on a corner, then you could jut out to the side and behind your space a bit...Does that work? That would probably be a better idea for the informational things you plan on doing as well.

Also, I would like to add that these things get really really hectic, you may not have enough time for all of the things you are planning.... JMO... ;)
A corner spot sounds great! Mom is planning on coming up as well, so me and her will be combining our two spaces together.

I also will have her to help me out with things, so it should be alright with time.

Chicken Bingo ! ! !
LOL! I love doing the chicken bingo for events. Basically you have a big board with numbered squares on it. People pick a number and then a chicken walks freely around the board. Whatever square the chicken poops on is the winning number. It's completely fun and very entertaining to see people's reactions when you tell them what it is.

I intend to donate a bit of the proceeds from it to help with funding the new additions to our poultry barn at the Coos County Fairgrounds. They are purchasing new cages and rebuilding things to make it safer and easier to keep clean.

$1.00 per number or 6/$5.00. Should be fun!

I love hearing all the plans, should be a great swap.

My tentative list (as I know I'll buy more than I need, lol)

Bringing:
Maybe blue copper/blue splash marans chicks or eggs (if they lay in time)
Maybe duck eggs or ducks (Call, possibly saxony) depending on laying/hatching results

Wanting:
Colored leg bands (yeah

they are on a bring list)
Fun hatching eggs (BLRW or colored eggs?)
other yummy and fun things I'm sure I'll find or need

Arrgh - I'm not able to get on here as much as I'd like, and I hope I haven't missed signing up! I intend to bring my jams (orange, boysenberry, maybe strawberry, raspberry -ask if you have a favorite!), my chicken tea cozies, toaster covers & potholders, a few pieces of chicken-themed jewelry -- I have a card table, and I don't know if anyone else has a pop-up with some room underneath for me to share... I might look into buying one, since I seem to be doing shows more often. Anyway, I really do want to come, and it looks like you're mapping the place already - so if there's space, could I have one? I'd rather have a space and figure out rain than be out of luck. :-}

Hope this makes sense. I've been so busy because, just after I bought 3 young Flemish Giant rabbits and scrambled to build a hutch, the abandoned 1/4 acre next to me suddenly came up for sale - and I got it! So now I'm trying to arrange to take down the trashed house, change the arrangement of my yard (it's now a 1/2 acre total)... and work also picked up suddenly. It never rains... !
