Sweet!!

thanks for all the welcomes! and yay, i finally found the "rules" for chickens in grants pass and as long as they are not bothering my neighbors i can have as many as i want!

Hi everyone. I'm new here, and new to raising chickens! i just got 8 rhode island red babies yesterday. so in love with these little ladies already! i've wanted to raise chicken for as long as i can remember and i never thought i'd actually be able to do it. i'm in Grants Pass, moved here about a year and a half ago from the bay area.
Welcome, welcome. I have 8 RIR hens and a Roo, along with some Australorps and Barred Rock. You will have fun here and with your chicks!

I have a couple of cockerels available for free to a pet home, as I do not want to process these two boys....

Faverolles x Cochin cross...I had hoped that being in the sun would show it better, but his hackle feathers are a very deep beautiful mahogany red....

This guy is Faverolles x Orpington...this is actually a REALLY bad pic of him, doesn't do him justice, he'll be BIG and he's already gorgeous....if anyone is interested in him, I can try to get a better pic...

ek. new member showing through....what does dt's mean?

Well, I am not sure how it is used for this phase of chickenhood..... I call that "learning chicken math!"

I think of dt's as delirium tremens (sp?) from being a long time drunk and trying to quit cold turkey. Not a good thing =:~) ?

Well, I think I may have gotten the new coop renovations talked up enough for going through.

No more wet, muddy winters in the Cute Coop!
