Oregon

It's so great to see so many new Oregonians here!

I suggest a move to somewhere in the Columbia Gorge!

It's sooo beautiful here, especially in the Fall.

I live in SE Portland and we still get plenty of that Gorge wind. We just came home from seeing the R Buckminster Fuller play at Portland Center Stage and the actor's line went, " wind isn't blown, it's sucked!" I had to laugh when I read your wind message because the quote immediately popped into my mind. Anyone with any opportunity to see this play should do so. It's mentally exhausting, scary, hopeful and "hardly realistic". Great show! Enjoy November, folks!

I love the wind! I grew up with the Santa Ana winds in Anaheim, and in Oklahoma where it is very windy. I missed it when I lived in SW Portland.

Thanks phoenix! That seems about right. Not sure what the demand is around here, but I'm hoping it's high.

we sell ours for $3.00 and sell out daily! lol
well we get about a dozen every 2 days (then also what we use)
the chickens here are now paying for their own feed.

It's cold but the chickens seem to be ok. I have extra shavings piled in the coop and blankets over the top to cut down any drafts I might have missed with the insulation. I had a hard time keeping the water thawed today though. We usually do not get these temps so I didn't worry about buying a heated dish. I might have to rethink that. Lol when they saw the snow this morning, they looked at it...looked at me and ran straight back in the coop. Later in the day they came out, but not for long. It was an inside day for them. I'm sure glad they didn't really molt this year. I'd be putting sweaters on them!

Same as above in Portland...the water is the biggest problem! Good thing I'm home all day. I am just bringing fresh water out every couple hours. I'm definitely getting a water heater as soon as I can get my hands on one!

Part of the coop roof blew off last night so I had to repair that today. It was an overlap area though, so it didn't expose the chickens, thankfully.

How's everyone else?
