Oregon

I recently brought 2 new hens home, one escaped out into the Christmas tree field which is also coyote land! She was gone all day and I had about given up hope, but then the neighbors spotted her and after a big chase she was finally captured! Dumb chicken. She stays home now just fine.

They always go to my neighbor's $2000 newly lanscaped yard to scrap up bark chips. And last time I brought home new hens they disaapeared and when I found them they were sleeping on my neighbor's $50,000 camaro and left absolutely the biggest pile of chicken poop I have ever seen on his $3,000 paint job.

Needless to say I no longer free range.

Your neighbor is a cheapskate. Only $2,000 for a landscaped yard? Sheesh.

OK I GOT A FUNNY ONE FOR YOU GUYS
TODAY ONE OF MY SILVER LACED WYANDOTTE GIRL GOT OUT OF THE COOP
SO I TRIED TO GET HER BACK IN THE COOP BUT SHE RAN INTO A FIELD WITH PROBABLY 8 ROWS EACH AROUND A FOOTBALL FIELD OF LEGTH
SHE KEPT ME GOING FROM ROW TO ROW TRYING TO CATCH HER TILL I FINALLY DECIDED TO GRAB A STICK AND AS SOON AS SHE WENT FLYING I GAVE HER A TAP ON THE BACK AND FINALLY GOT HER SHE KEPT THIS UP SINCE 2 IN THE AFTERNOON AND I JUST CAUGTH HER JEJEEJ WHAT A DAY

I think we learned something about not chasing a chicken if the chicken is running *away* from the coop.

I use a q-tip dipped in warm watee and gently twist and lift at the edges to remove pasty butt mess. The feed store people sometimes just pluck the dried mess off and remove the fuzz with it. I'll stick with my q-tips thank you.
