Oregon

We are working on converting a five foot overhang on our shop into a breeding pen, broody room and some equipment storage.  I just packed all the left over cement siding across the yard and now I get to haul it back.  It's like firewood, it's not ready to burn until you move and stack it the third time.  The rain we just had at least showed us the low spots and that I will be wheeling in a lot of sand!

Funny! But ... hugs!

He got a little more serious after we had to move the BLRW's, (there are only five and their broody mom), into his greenhouse since the grow out run would have been nothing but yuck. It was his idea to get the chickens in the first place, I said I would NEVER have chickens for 40 years and gave into his wishes.

No, I don't take breaks. I get paid milage so faster I get done the better. Usually is a 5-6hr run from Clackamas to Lakewood and back Sunday through Thursday nights. Leave around 10pm and get back around 4am (when no issues from our warehouse with getting the trailers loaded on time). On the very rare occasion I will stop at 72 to grab a bite to eat.

Oh no, that's not a good Moma. Is that your Buff? Good thing you had another broody.

No my poor buff who hatched the lil jersey also hatched another silkie, one disappears and the splash broody hen that was sitting on the other jersey eggs who didn't hatch any went over and pecked the poor thing and it died. So I took the rest of the eggs and gave them to the other splash hen(she is the mother of the other splash hen) who often tries to sit with her daughter on the eggs in the same nesting box, she hatched one darling lil splash silkie and has a few more eggs under her. I would candle them but don't really know what I am looking for yet, lol. I figure the eggs all came into being around the time that the jersey eggs were placed I think one more week and we should know if any of the other eggs are fertile. If I only have one hatch may need to find it a friend. I figure that way I can return my splash to her flock and place my heat lamp and another chick to play with.

Crossing my fingers!!!

Im not hatching right now, but I have eggs, and also a full grown rooster, If u want to buy them. My rooster is a silkie u can have him for free, he was suppose to be a she. Its just, he has deformed feet. They look a little swollen but he gets around perfect.
