Sorry, I don't understand your comment. Freezing will keep the feed from molding, just like with other foods.
You're so super generous, but did you know you can freeze the feed and keep it just fine until you need it? When I buy scratch I pour it into large zip lock bags. It works great. Even if you can't freeze it all, you could at least keep some of it for later.
Have fun with your chicks!

I started with 6 last May. I now have 30 and still adding. And many on here are enablers
No idea what you're talking about. ..LOL
You guys are SOOOO BUSTED!!!!!
Gotta tell you all that this group goes so far down the road of Enabling that CloverLeaf picked up a little girl for me in Woodburn... handed her off to Travis who drove her all the way up to Centralia. ChickenRustler picked her up there and kept her until I got there the next day. Noooo... this crew doesn't enable.... no way!
I repeat you all are So Busted!![]()
I am not part of those problem children. Be careful hanging with them. They will get ya in trouble![]()

I think I know who it is in Tillamook. IF it is Carrie she is a very nice lady. Just don't let her know ya know me.HI,
In Astoria, I think the local eggs are going for $3.50-$4 a dozen for regular feed and $4.00 - $5.00 for organic. Maybe more for blue/green eggs.
Costco organic/free range eggs are $3.65 a dozen I think. (Just to compare). I only have an extra dozen a week or so and give them to my coworkers.
Buxton feed has organic feed now...I am hoping to pick some up. I think someone also delivers organic feed up here for a small fee from Tillamook. (maybe it was trask river poultry?)
AyeUpChuckThought I'd ask here too, I'm looking for a good local source of Cream Legbars. Anyone know anyone?
Quote: My self I would not intentionally buy feed that far in advance BUT since it happened and ya only 6 weeks I would store it in a dry location and not worry about it. Think about this the grains in that were harvested last summer and have been in the elevator/mill since. Is a few more weeks really gonna matter??
