My kids are in 4-h and we wanted a couple of chickens for them to show and my husband wanted chickens for eggs. Well we ended up with 24 chickens! oops! I have 7 hens that are laying now and there is no way the kids and I are going to be able to keep up with eating that many. So I am thinking I am going to need to start selling eggs. Is there anybody in my area that sells eggs? What do you sell them for?

Id Sell them anyway since not every one can supply astoria Ive lived there before and if your doing organic there is a Huge demand now adays

also place an add at your grange and craigs list what type of chickens and do you have roos ?

I'm not organic but they free range kinda. They are locked in the dogs yard that is about 30x150ft. I am not worried about having too many eggs out there and not being able to sell them. I am more worried about making people pay too much, or them snubbing me because I am asking too much.

Check your local CraigsList and see if anyone is advertising, that will give you an idea. You can also price "cage-free/free range" eggs in the grocery store, yours will be closer to what people think when they hear these terms, and fresher.

Hey Lady! Guess who!
Here in Bremerton $3 is a bargain, $4 is fairly common, and at the farmers markets they go for $6 or $7. Stephanie has one lady that buys 18 eggs every couple of weeks but I don't know what she charges. Love your mix of birds, how do the kids like them? Have they started 4H yet? I don't have enough to sell since I have only 2 layers right now, and one is on strike. I had to take my favorite girl over to Joey's a couple weeks ago, he was kind enough to usher her to chicken heaven for me. We never did figure out exactly what was wrong, but I didn't want her to suffer.

No idea what you're talking about. ..LOL

You guys are SOOOO BUSTED!!!!!

Gotta tell you all that this group goes so far down the road of Enabling that CloverLeaf picked up a little girl for me in Woodburn... handed her off to Travis who drove her all the way up to Centralia. ChickenRustler picked her up there and kept her until I got there the next day. Noooo... this crew doesn't enable.... no way!

I repeat you all are So Busted!

I'm in cave junction and the hubby as sweet as he is bought layer crumbles for my babies! So I have a 40 lb bag of food I can't use and don't want it to go bad. Does anyone in the area want it? 18% organic feed.

You're so super generous, but did you know you can freeze the feed and keep it just fine until you need it? When I buy scratch I pour it into large zip lock bags. It works great. Even if you can't freeze it all, you could at least keep some of it for later.

Have fun with your chicks!
