Question for all you local peeps....I have three 4 mo girls. Two of them were hatched together and have always been 'budied' up leaving my poor third girl left out and perpetually behind and distressed. So I want to get another chicken to give her a friend. I know it isn't advisable normally to add one chicken at a time into a flock. But being we only have 3 and one is already way lower in the pecking order what do you think? They are out and about all day and only cooped up to sleep. It broke my heart again tonight when I went to tuck them in and Applesauce was all alone roosted away from Cinderella and Cecilia, who were all warm and snuggled up together
So the farm I got all three chicks from has silkie hens right now the same age and I am just dying to bring one home!!! If our set up aloud for 5 chicken's I would bring 2 as is reccomended, but it doesn't we can ony do 4 max right now. Any thoughts? Someone please tell me it will be OK and to go get one!!!!
