So what your saying is People do not careful enough to protect their flocks ? Thats Very Sad so many have a Disease that can carry onto other animals ? One of my friends where i got my First birds has a Neighbor that was Just hospitalized for this as well He also sold Birds to the man that came to my home . Very Sad because according to the Lab this is a Disease that Just keeps on Giving. I prefer not to help spread this disease to Mother Nature and my Other animals . I wont go by the cop out

I'm sure that the comment was not meant in a deragatory way, just a fact stating the truth. It is a common disease and we're all sorry that your chickens contracted it =( I've seen lots of people giving you good advice and good thoughts, it's nice to have a place to go to vent your frustrations.

If you knew someone had lice would you let your kids go play with them ?

I guess what I'm getting at is that I understand that you are angry and upset and none of us would want to be in your shoes, as I said before we are all sorry this happened. It is bad that "some" can shrug it off so easily, I DO get what you are saying and feel for you. I'm sure there isn't one person in this group that would disagree that what happened was nothing short of awful.

"I" however am not a person that would go onto someone's property purposely knowing that my own animals were sick...and no, I wouldn't let my kids play with someone I knew had lice...I'm a germaphobe I'm having a hard enough time with my first child in her first year of school...soooo dreading the sick days I know are coming .

I know I just had to do some of the bad stuff today
I know that no one here is my enemy or no one here would sell sick stock .
its just so frustrating that and other things just too much right now i have a punching bag and some knuckle bruises now too. Needed the work out i am sorry I hope every one learned what they could from My mistake . that would make all of this worth what i have gone threw .

Hi everyone, I apologize for the topic change..

I'm relocating to the Portland area soon, and am looking for someone to board my chickens and Roos until we can find a property that accepts roosters. We tried our hardest, and out of all the stress and short amount of time to look, we went with an apartment and our backup plan to board. I do have someone willing to board our chickens in the Vancouver area, but I feel like its a bit far from us, we would like to visit our chickens now and then.. They're dear pets to us. Is there anyone in The Portland area that we could board with? Preferably near the Beaverton/Hillsboro area? I have two Roos, and three hens, and one of the hens has a month old chick which will be two months old when we move. To be honest the folks in Vancouver aren't *that* far away and they seem like wonderful people, but my bf asked that I at least try to find someone closer first.. If anyone is interested or have questions please send me a message!
