The critters share the bounty. I didn't know they would prefer cooked, but between the hens and the does the seeds go quickly and the flesh gets nibbled on over the course of a few days. Then we cut open a fresh one! This year we have six, but some years we have had as many as fifty from the neighbor's pumpkin field leftovers. Sadly, this year they didn't plant pumpkins. (The seeds are a natural wormer for the goats.)
