Mine don't either but they keep my yard weed free! As I've never eaten grass or weeds I'm not sure what the flavor difference is but it must be there because they decent on every weed sprout that dares show its foliage and eat it down to the roots

Awesome! Natural weed killer!:p My other chickens ADORE grass, I got a lawn mower that has a huge bag to store all the grass in:D.

I'm from Bend and I'm looking for a couple bantam chicks. I'd prefer Ameraucana bantams, but would consider a silkie or frizzle. I'm new to the site and don't quite get the 'thread etiquette" so please forgive if someone has already posted about this!

Any breeders or would anyone be interested in going in on an online order?

Thanks for any help!

Hello. Our family is in Salem and new to having chickens, and new to this website. We have an adorable assortment of 3 week olds. I had no idea that chickens were such sweeties! We are hoping to begin coop construction this weekend. Wish us luck:)

New chicken mama here out in Warren, OR. We had chickens growing up (and rabbits, horses, ducks, geese and a goat! plus our two dogs and a cat) but this is my first time doing them myself. 3 chicks, 2 Buff Orphs and 1 black australorp.

To the flock!

I am in Salem. We have our coop built and got post holes dug for aviary/run. Still waiting on chicks arriving that I ordered from Heirloom Orpingtons. Nightime lows here need to get to no lower than 50 before they'll ship. I'm getting 10 chicks 5 different varieties. I don't have much experience raising chicks, so I'm pretty nervous  . This is a fantastic website full of tons of information and support from other members. P.S. Getting chickens all started with a stray Delaware that ended up at our place. I fell in love with her. She eventually ran off with a neighbor's rooster, so now she lives down the street.
