Well Ive been around enough probably should have said Hi a long time ago so here goes Hi from Milwaukie.
My wife and I have been lurking about a Year and finally pulled the trigger and got 4 pullets

in February so far so good
We thought about trying to make it to albany but much to much going on

First post here. But I saw someone else in Milwaukie so I thought it was a good place to start. Wife and I are also in Milwaukie and just about to get started with some chicks. A little late to the party, but I made it. Hoping to start out with 6 hens here in the next few days. Can't wait. Lots to read and learn though.

Good morning, all; I'm in Corvallis. I actually joined here last year thinking we'd be getting our chicks soon. Life has a way of changing those plans... and we ended up putting everything on hold for another year. This year we did it! Got our 6 chicks in early April, and my husband is finishing the coop/pen today. Just in time--these ladies are bursting out of the converted doghouse we are using! They are *really* ready to be outside. Looking forward to learning more here, as we transition to the outside. I'm a bit nervous about that, because it still seems too cold. We should be okay with the heat lamp still on at nights, right? The ladies are all feathered out...thanks for being here!!

The wireless thermostat in the coop tells me it drops down to about 50 inside the (insulated) coop at night, but it's probably warmer directly under the heat lamp, where they sleep.
