I've got one of our turkeys in the oven and the smell is killing me!

Just PM'd you back while I was eating crock pot chicken cooked in wine with sage and rosemary :) We are going to make everyone hungry!!!

That sounds so delicious.

And similar to what I did with the turkey.

Roasted curry-butter rubbed turkey stuffed with garlic and onions and white wine and sprigs of fresh rosemary everywhere, basted in more white wine ... They could probably smell it in Portland. And oh was it good. Is, I should say "is" as it "is" a 30 lb bird and there are only 3 of us eating here tonight ...

I'm warming up to the idea of starting a new flock of proper heritage Dual Purpose birds ... Does anyone have Delawares available soon-ish? Preferably local?

Please send me referrals and recommendations about sources. I want a good, honest, respected source.

Thanks!!!!!

I hate to say it but respiratory disease in chickens are still bad news those that live remain carriers and you have to have a closed flock. :(

I now have a HUGE pot of turkey bone broth on the stove, including the feet. It was my first time peeling feet, and I'm so excited to know how to do it so my broths will have even more nutrition!
