Oregon

Hi folks, I have been on the prowl for a few SQ white or black silkie hens or polish hens, or olive eggers to add to my flock for my daughter in 4-H. She is really picky about what she wants to work with and of course she wants a breed I don't have in my flock of 17. I am not a fan of odd numbers so I am looking for 3 of any combo, I would really like 1 of each but I think that 2 of one breed and 1 of the other would be good if you have silkie hens available since they tend to be smaller. I live in Portland and just had back surgery so I dont thing I will be able to make it to the swap next weekend but I will try. Please help. I have been watching CL, pm'ed a few members here who I was told have very nice silkies but have had no response. Thank you so much

have to give a big thanks to clover leaf farms and chicken rustler for their help with the RIR situation..

Hey all the OR folks!! HI!!!!

It was fun meeting some of you at the Stevenson show this weekend! If you missed us... we were the ones with Daffy the Diva in a diaper and leash! It was lots of fun! I hope you guys have nice weather for your swap!

probably going to be some Washingtonians posting on this thread this morning, since the Powers That Be have locked the Washington thread -- temporarily I hope

in the best of all possible worlds, the moderators will clear it up pronto and let us get back to clucking

highly frustrating for those of us wanting to keep up with our friends and their morning news and general chitchat

but I figure since I'm a "native Oregonian" (born Eugene, lived in Newport, Agate Beach, Portland, Corvallis; spent summers in Florence and Madras, survived four years of OSU) ... and I've actually met that Masked Man several times ... even donated a tank to him ... that I might catch up with friends here and make a few new ones

Hello Oregonians!

I'm from the Washington thread too - but since I have a sister in Jacksonville, I reckon I can visit here for a while!

I have to say, I think those moderators do a fine job, considering the amount of posts on BYC and many of them have families and other "duties".

I feel a bit guilty really - I didn't read all the info, or forgot some of it, and didn't remember what the "REPORT" button was for. We should all be more vigilant and take more responsibility for what goes on, then the Mods won't have to do so much cleanup.

And for all those Washingtonians who expressed sympathy over the loss of my little "Tillie", thank you. I don't remember who said it, but someone mentioned becoming attached to our animals. I think that in Tillie's case, it was because when she got sick, and I brought her into the garage, that I spent so much more time with her. When the animal or bird is outside with the flock, you don't get so personally involved with each one. At least I don't - we have so many it's hard to keep count/track of them all. Well, except for the goats, 'cus now we only have one left and I'm trying to find her a companion. I spend as much time with her as I can, so she doesn't get lonely, but now I'm getting really attached to HER!
