You can treat them with antibiotics from the feed store. It's a powder that goes in their water. I cured mine with it!

It's tetracycline. The problem with treating respiratory infection with antibiotics is that they will still carry it and will pass it on to other birds they come into contact with...

Yeah, they should be able to do a swab and send to the lab for testing. Chickens don't get "colds" like the rest of us do.

She was here a few weeks ago to pick up 3 pea cocks...bought a Silky from me..............she has hatching eggs for sale, and I wanted some, still do, but have not heard from her since!
Hope she made it home ok...

Willamette Valley here happily crowing that our ladies presented us with eggs at long last! Bok Bok! 6mo old & we were wondering if we'd have an egg-less Winter but maybe the light we rigged in the coop has tricked them. I'm so proud of them, and having fun on my daily Egg Hunts. I'd heard how much more vibrant the yolk color is and WOWEE there's no comparison between what these chicks made and a store bought egg!

For those of you on a budget, we bought some of those driveway lights, the ones that have a little solar panel. Since we don't have electrickery at the coop, we decided to try to solar ones. They work great, and they turn on right at dusk. Once the birds grow back their feathers from the dreaded "MOLT", we shall be getting a gazillion eggs a day
