My chicks are 8 weeks old today. Only 2 nights ago they all lined up on the roost. Untill then all the chicks plus Henry, the young rooster, were still sleeping in the baby nest sort of under the hen!

I know Australorps are supposed to have pinkish foot pads, but one of mine has some shade between neon yellow and orange, with yellow toenails, she is quite flashy when she runs!

Newbie just signed on last week. Getting started with a small flock of 3 chickens and a brand new coop. I live on Crooked River Ranch in Terrebonne, OR in central Oregon. I have been spending lots of time on the BYC site. Love the "Name the Coop" posts I am still laughing.

Lebanon, OR...near Corvallis, home of the Oregon State Beavers!!! We just got 16 lil chickies! I used to live in Tualtain, just about two years ago...loved it up there, especially since we lived so close to the zoo!

Waterdog2442! I have 3 two week old Buff Brahma chicks in the brooder from Far West Hatchery in Canby. They are growing fast, most notable, they are the quietest chicks I have had. The week one week Brahma chicks from a midwest hatchery that are in with them are are steady making the usual amount of peeping and cheeping.
